The company also operates in Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan.

The Memphis location will be home to the company’s North American division, Dialogue Technology USA Corp.

The Flybook will come to the Memphis facility from China half completed.

In Memphis, Dialogue Technology USA will finish the product and distribute it to retailers such as Best Buy and Circuit City.

The company plans to employ 50 people within two years.

Dialogue Technology sold 118,000 units in Europe during the first year of Flybook sales and the company was looking for a North American presence, according to business development manager Raffie Freiden.

“FedEx is why we chose Memphis,” he says. “FedEx handles 90 percent of the world’s laptop shipments and the U.S. has 35 percent of the world’s laptop consumption. There was a need for Dialogue Technology and Flybook to be here.”
