The V33 uses a standard IDE (PATA) 2.5″ drive. The replacement procedure is documented in the manual. To remove the drive you have to remove the keyboard to remove a single screw. Then you can pull the drive out (carefully) on the right hand side. See page 46 in http://www.flybook.com.tw/upload/e_web/v3-um-en.pdf. Please note that it is not really necessary to remove the keyboard completely, you can access the screw by tipping the keyboard.

other question. i have a 2 GB Ram modul insert. the other slot ist empty is ist possible to upgrade 4GB Ram. Flybook is around 2 years old?
An all restart i have to go in the bios to set the date and time. think the bios batterie ist damage. where in europa can get this batteri <(CR1220) with a cabel?

My 2 year old V5 now has 4 GB of RAM in it (I didn’t do it myself – Flybook did it when it was in for repairs). Sorry, I don’t know anything about the BIOS battery… hopefully someone else?

Hey, you’re correct. I received an email from Egistec about it as well. I had to uninstall the Authentec driver first, then rebooted, installed Vitakey, rebooted, and it works! Thanks for the heads up!

Finally I installed the drivers for the biometric reader in my Flybook with Windows 7. The biometric reader this time was recognized correctly and is in perfect
operation.

Just remove all previous drivers and make the
download and installation.

You download the first option given the link
previously mentioned. Here is working 100%

The version of the VITAKEY software is 6.1.46

Hi,
About the “Intel(R) 82801GBM (ICH7-M/U) LPC Interface Controller – 27B9″
The following resolved it for me.
highlight the item in device manager and right click and update driver, dont connect to the internet, select choose from list and scroll through the list until you find
system devices/chipset,intel,ICH7-M and install this.
Everything works like a charme now.

Startup and shutdown is definitely faster. Applicaiton speed is faster, but since I also upgraded to 4GB of RAM at the same time, I can’t exactly quantify how much of the increase is due to OS vs. RAM.

Hi!

While shopping for a new/2nd hand laptop, I just became aware of the V5. I also wanted to be able to run W7 on my new lappy, and Googling brought up your site

I was wondering, while I understand you’re having a couple of problems with drivers/software support, how is the performance compared to XP/Vista?
