AT&T SIM Card

I had someone ask me recently about the AT&T SIM card that goes into a slot in the battery compartment of the Flybook V5. I went to a local AT&T store to pick mine up, but I believe you can actually order the SIM over the phone and then call to activate it once you are ready to go. The SIM comes on a card the size of a standard credit card and you just punch it out (the white space you see is where the actual SIM was). The card then has the SIM ID – you can carry it in your wallet and if you have issues, you can read it off the card vs. taking out your SIM to look at it. There was a problem with my service at the beginning and they issued me a second SIM. That card is in my wallet – this is the card from the first, now defunct SIM. You can see from the punched out hole  that the actual SIM is about the size of a man’s thumbnail.

  2. Sebastian,
I have the Unlimited Data Plan for $60/month. I talked my way out of a two-year commitment into a 1 year arguing that I wasn’t reaping the benefit of any discounted hardware. You might find some of my AT&T and HSDPA posts informative (use the Tags drop-down in the rightmost column to filter on just those posts).
